Candles are an easy addition to the home or office that add a bit of glimmer and warmth, but some times it seems our candles are hell bent on looking as ugly as possible when not in action. Many factors can influence the look of your candle; wind draft, fans, even the sun. The most common problem when burning a candle is not letting it burn long enough to set a proper burn pattern, leaving a sunken circle in the middle. DO NOT scoop the wax from the sides to the middle to “even it out” it will only make it worse and possibly drown your wick.

The easiest way to fix this problem is to be very very careful and form a chimney or cone out of foil around the top of your candle. Leaving the foil chimney on your candle for about 20 minutes should do the trick but extra time may be required. PLEASE use extreme CAUTION when removing the foil as it may be hot to the touch. Repeat until your candle is burned from the wick all the way to the vessel walls. Now your candle should burn in the same pattern every time!

Avoid leaving your candles in places reachable by children or pets.
